I'm inspired by
A curated list, of people I’m inspired by. People that I think make great dents on the world. In no specific order - because I really can’t choose between them.
Mike Smith
Following for years. I have been amazed so many times from what he puts into the world. Very detailed case studies. Go see for yourself.
Matt Plays
Also an old flame. I’m crazy about his textures and style. The texturized design for Burton during an all flat design era. So good. And at this point, I’m embarrassed by the amount of times I’ve been at his portfolio pressing CMD + R. Waiting for the next thing to drop.
Malene Hald
Malene was the very first designer I ever met. So I didn’t know it was something you could be or do. Also, she’s a great illustrator.
Morten Just
Comes up with all of these weird projects. It’s inspiring. A long way from cookie-cutter stuff. Shared as anything from a quick sketch to a full product.
Cecilie Manz
I have a speaker that she has designed with B&O. And weirdly it was seeing her cardboard prototypes that convinced me. Exploring materials and textures. And the process.
Brian Lovin
Longtime host of Design Details, and maker of several startups. It seems like he is always where it happens.
Matthew Wolff
Do you remember that Nigeria shirt for WC2018. That’s this guy’s work. And a range of cool football crests. I really enjoy the one for Oakland Roots.
Tobias Røder
Cuts his design ideas so slim. All his work seems so obvious. But that almost requires the most amount of work.
Chris Coyier
Frontend developer that always shares new tricks for the web. Also, the OG creator of CSS Tricks. I follow his podcast - ShopTalk Show.
Simon Sinek
You probably already know - The Golden Circle. He asks interesting questions. Often on humanity and leadership.
Aron Draplin
THE oldschool designer. It’s impossible not to get drawn in by this big man. Slapping his logo on everything.
Derek Sivers
I’m not sure what to call him, but he shares interesting insights to life. Whether it’s “Hell yeah or no” or it’s “Tech independence”.
